Saturday, 14 December 2019

It is with pleasure that I say we have had a very successful year for the Knit For Charity Group. We have met once a month at Neighbourhood House in Lakes, and had informal "Knit and Natter" sessions at Lakes Bowls Club.

During the year, we have been given some fabulous yarn, generously donated by some beautiful ladies, all of which has been used to create items for donation. We thank everyone who has donated to us this year, for your very generous support. Your generosity means that we have been able to create more items for donation than may have been possible without your support. The high quality of the yarn donated has meant that high quality items have been created and donated.

As a small but dedicated group, we have donated the following to Neighbourhood House for distribution to local people.

Beanies - 100

Gloves - 30 pairs

Scarves - 20

Blankets/Rugs - 46

TO THE LADIES IN THE GROUP WHO CREATE FOR DONATION - A HUGE THANK YOU. YOU ALL GIVE SO GENEROUSLY OF YOUR TIME, TALENT AND CREATIVITY, TO CREATE THE AMAZINGLY BEAUTIFUL ITEMS WE ARE PROUD TO LEAVE AT NH FOR PEOPLE NOT AS BLESSED AS WE ARE. IT IS A GREAT PLEASURE TO ME PERSONALLY, TO SEE THAT BASKET ON THE TABLE FULL OF YOUR CREATIONS, AND KNOW THAT SOMEONE WILL FIND WARMTH AND COMFORT FROM THOSE ITEMS, AND WILL HOPEFULLY KNOW THAT THE LADIES OF LAKES ENTRANCE ARE KIND, GENEROUS AND WONDERFUL PEOPLE.

There will be new arrangements for the group in the new year, and I will post details here when they are finalized, but we will continue our monthly meeting at Neighbourhood House, and our "Knit and Natter" sessions too, and we will continue to donate to Neighbourhood House.

In the meantime, I wish you all a very happy and safe holiday period, however you choose to spend it, and I will look forward to spending time with you all again in the New Year.

Last Knit and Natter for 2019

Can you believe the year is almost gone?  The craziness of December is upon us!

Our final Knit and Natter session for 2019 will be held at the Lakes Entrance Bowls Club on Friday 13th December at 1:00 pm

You are all invited to come along, whether or not you bring your knitting/crochet, you are invited to join us for a coffee.

After this session I will finalize numbers for our donations for the year.  For such a small group, the figures I have already are impressive and I know there are more to add.

We won't embarrass anyone by giving names,  we will just total up what we, as a group,  have donated to our local community for the year.
